New ANZ Credit Card rewards payments

27 November 2007

The ANZ has launched a new credit card that rewards customers for making payments on their credit card. For every dollar that you repay off your balance you will receive one point instead of the traditional way of earning points where you get one point for every dollar that you spend.

ANZ Managing Director Consumer Finance, Ms Jenny Fagg said, "Our research found that customers want to reduce debt and be rewarded for payments to their credit card, but at the same time, they don't want to miss out on a rewards program by choosing a card with a lower interest rate,"

"ANZ Balance Visa is the only credit card of its kind in Australia - indeed one of the first in the world - and it further delivers on our strategy to provide customers with more convenient banking, based on products that are simple to understand and delivered in a responsible manner."

ANZ Balance Visa card features:

- One Reward Point for every $1 repaid to the account balance. This includes any repayments to interest, fees, cash advances and balance transfers.

- 13.99%p.a. interest rate on purchases

- No Reward Points capping or expiry while your account is open.

- Customers can design their own cards

Receiving your rewards from ANZ Balance Visa:

- Cashback: Can be credited back to you reducing your outstanding credit card balance.

- Shopping Vouchers and Gift Cards: Available with retailers such as Myer, David Jones, Target, Kmart, Caltex and Bunnings.
