Clearing your credit card debt after Christmas
7 January 2008
The New Year has begun with many waiting with baited breath for their credit card statement to arrive later this month. After spending freely over the Christmas break the majority have a credit card bill that they won't want to see when it arrives in the mail.
Clearing your credit card bill with a balance transfer credit card or a personal loan can ease the financial strain that you may feel when you have to balance your budget.
A new balance transfer credit card allows you to transfer your existing debit balance to a brand new card with another bank. Most balance transfer accounts offer you a six month period of zero or very low interest fees on your debit balance to gain your business.
This is a good way to repay the debit balance on your credit card with all of your repayments coming off the amount you owe and not a portion going off the balance and the rest paying for interest.
The other option you have is to take out a personal loan. Taking out a personal loan can wipe out several bills in one hit and allows you to focus on just making one easy payment each month, rather than trying to juggle your finances.
