Choosing the right type of credit card

3 April 2008

For many people, international travel is an important part of their business life, and they need solutions to make their international funds usage easier. If you are such a person, then you need to keep in mind the type of credit card you have.

The four major types of credit card available are Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, and American Express. Not every card is ideal for travel, however, as some are accepted in a wider range of locations than others. Visa and MasterCard are generally the most desirable credit card types when travelling overseas, as they are both accepted in a comparably high number of countries and locations. American Express cards, however, can be very useful in certain parts of major American cities, due to a previous period in time where many upper class restaurants were encouraged to only accept American Express. Their premium credit cards also offer very competitive enhanced travel features, such as extensive travel insurance.

Remember, the type of a credit card will dictate how versatile it is in overseas travel finance. Please visit our credit cards comparison page to choose from a wide selection of excellent products.
